The Certified Nurse Assistant Training (CNA) program prepares students with entry-level skills and knowledge to practice in the role of a certified nurse assistant in a variety of a long-term care setting. Graduates receive a certificate of completion and are prepared to successfully complete the state certification examination to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in the state of Michigan.

The total nurse assistant training program is 90 hours. The course is divided into theory, classroom laboratory and a clinical practicum. The instructors use a variety of teaching methods and techniques in the classroom. Textbooks, audio-visual support, role-play and demonstration are used throughout the course.

Career Opportunities: 

Qualified health care workers are in great demand. Nursing Assistant graduates may find jobs in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Home Healthcare Agencies.

Program Information: 

Day and Evening classes are offered. The program is a 90 clock hours of classroom lectures and laboratory with Clinical. Day time classes are completed in 13 days and night time classes are completed in 19 days.

Certification: 

The Nursing Assistant program is approved by the Michigan Department of Public Health. The state of Michigan requires Nursing Assistants to be certified. Graduates of this program are eligible to become certified after successful completion of the state certification examination.
