The Certified Medical Administrative program is designed to prepare the students to work in today's high tech offices and medical office clinics. Graduates will have working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills including; Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint as well as medical administrative knowledge. Students will also receive keyboarding skills, business math, basic bookkeeping and be prepared to handle office procedures.

Career Opportunities: 

Certified Medical Administrative Assistant graduates can be employed throughout the economy. A large number of them work in Doctor's offices, Clinics, Hospitals, Nursing homes, Home Health Care Agencies, and other related occupations. The number of job openings is expected to grow faster than average as businesses expand and join the technical revolution.

Program Information: 

Students will complete a total of 450 clock hours. 10 weeks of classroom training of 300 clock hours and 4 weeks of externship. The externship component of the program is 150 clock hours, with the student working in an office setting for approximately 37½ hours per week.

Certification: 

Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a Diploma and a letter of completion and will be eligible for the National Certification examination through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
